AKA: Your GPA will not get you a job
If a feedback system allows everyone through or prevents anyone from progressing, you should question that system.
Yes, grades are a necessary part of the academic process. It’s a mechanism for providing assessment with some level of standardization. Certain grades are indicators of experiences and knowledge gained whoever, like many other aspects of society, grades as an assessment of your abilities as a designer is highly biased for a variety of reasons. And employers know this.
If you took classes because you felt you were going to get a good grade, you did college wrong. This is the time to correct this.
