Moberg on Walnut. Des Moines, IA

Water quality is a huge issue. Much of the discussion includes question about agricultural runoff. This installation uses 1 year of data collected by USGS sensors in the Des Moines River to present audio that has been modified by the nitrate levels throughout that year. The data is from Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2015. The sounds manipulated are recorded from the general area where the biggest offenders are suspected to be in the norther part of the state. The user can change out the cassette to introduce different sounds to be manipulated by the data.
